Upgrade windows 2000 network to Small business server 2003 network:

Has anyone done this? How did you go about it; The SMB Server came pre-installed on a new HP server so we are not upgrading the W2k server (which is the only server serving as DC, DNS, file server etc) on the network. During setup the SMB2003 server is trying to take charge so we had to install it in a different (new) domain.

Do you know of a better way to bring the SMB2003 server up on the same network/Domain to facilitate file migrations before retiring the old w2k server.

PLEASE NOTE; I have seen several articles dealing with upgrading w2k server to SMB 2003 Server on Microsoft website. But I am interested in procedure in upgrading W2K NETWORK TO SMB2003 BASED NETWORK
