Processor upgrade problem

I have a Iwill KK266-R motherboard that is currently working fine with a AMD Duron 900 MHZ processor. I tried to upgrade the processor to a AMD ATHALON XP 2700+ 2.16 GHZ processor with 333 MHZ FSB. When I installed the new processor and powered up the computer I get nothing. No BIOS screen, no search for operating system, nothing. When I replaced the old processor (900 MHZ Duron) everything worked fine again.

What I am having trouble determining is if the new processor is good or not (it was a refurbished item). One thing I thought may have bearing on this is that the Duron processor has a FSB speed if 266 MHZ, while the new ATHALON has a FSB speed of 333 MHZ.
