profiles for games?

I have a DELL Insperion 8100 PIII 1GHZ with 128MB 32MB NVIDIA Geforce 2 with 20 Gig HD running on XP Home with all available updates
Iam using the Laptop primarily for work use office apps mail internet access ect but would like to if it is worth it to create a ID for home – games etc to mainly to separate these and also to optimize the games to run as quickly as possible

I would like to create the account to separate the two lets say work and home.
Are there any settings restrictions tweaks modifications can I make to the home account to make the most of the system to make the games run better, no office apps etc will be need for this account.

Or should I consider a dual boot system with a different OS??
