Proxy Server 2.0 Client

I have a laptop client with Win2K on it. I have installed the Proxy Client from 2.0 (same that I use on Win98/NT 4.0 clients), and can access Internet, and can retrieve mail, but cannot send mail. Settings in mail client are same as other clients on the network. Any ideas or solutions???
