.QIC files

We made a backup of a hard disk in the same hard disk, copied it to another machine, format the hard disk and re-install Windows 95, and when we’re trying to restore the backup we receive the message “Please insert volume [backup name] tape number 1”. There’s only one .QIC file, and, as I said, it was made on the hard disk. ?What can we do about it?
