First of all let me say…I have searched the questions and can’t find the problems I am having. Second of all, I am absolutely new to working on a computer…so here goes.
I bought a bunch of computers from the government. The hard drives were “killed”. I am trying to boot in a Windows 95 that I have and am running into the same persistant problems. I will try my best to explain them below.
Ok… the first problem:
I can fdisk and format c:. I have done this. When I get to thepoint where I get to the drive changing to E:, it checks the disk and then gives this message. This is what is on the screen.

I have formatted the drives and have tried everything I can think of to get it going. There should be nothing on the drive except what is on the boot diskette, right? SO, I don’t understand why it doesn’t have enough space!
By the way, here is what I am working with here. I am working with Pentium MMX with 200mhz speed. The hard drives are either 6 or 8 gig. When I did the fdisk, I did the fat 32 because it said I had a drive bigger than the required size. I chose the standard options and partitioned onthe option #1 because it would not let me do anything else.
It recognizes the drives.
Second problem, on another computer, it won’t let me fdisk or format. It says these are bad commands, what do I need to do?
I feel so ignorant! I am learning tho…honestly, I have never been on that side of the computer before! I used to just turn a computer on and never think about it!!! Now, that I know I need to do these things, I am learning! Is there anyone out there willing to be a mentor???
