Raid Drives impacted

by nbywater . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

It all stated with a cable that got pinched when we were replacing a cd-rom. We pulled out the HDs set them aside then I had to leave and I dont think the drives were put back in the correct place. The cable that got piched would pick up a drive here and there so I got another cable (scsi, hardware raid) and now the raid setup will detect all of the drives. At first they were all in a failed state so I tried to rebuild them now all of them say impacted and nothing changes. These drives are in a raid 5 config.

Is there a way I can get the drives back up and running there was some important data that was not backed up on the last backup.

Does it matter if the drives are not in the same place on the scsi cable?
