RAM

Hello, My system has not been performing well latley and i have traced the problem to a lack of RAM, when i entered the store to purchase some i found out that there were many different sizes shapes and styles,ect. can anyone tell me how or where i can find out how to find out what kind type speed,ect of RAM i have?
