RAM onboard

by parthiv_13 . Updated 20 years, 8 months ago

I was working with INTERCARE security system as a part of my last job. Where I have used a Security system Board which was having onboard LINUX embeded as OS, onboard 500 mhz processor, onboard 128 MB RAM and etc onboad. Which worked very well instead of slot fixing things. Yes it do have slots for extra increament for RAM.

My question is why can’t the motherboard manufacturer is not giving onboard RAM instead of having slot for them….? it works well instead of slot as per my experience…. They can give minimum starting with 256 MB as per today’s need. Also couple of jumper setting which are not required on board they can remove it. Like they were not having Onboard LANcard before but now providing it onboard as for the same onboard soundcard.

So repeating the question why they are not providing onboard RAM ? yes of course with extra slot to make increament with more memmory as per need. Which can reduce cost to buy RAM externally to end user.
