RAS access speed

by mteal . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

I am having problems with one RAS user, who only can get speeds of 14,400 bps.

The network runs routing and remote access on Windows NT 4 server. There are 8 modems attached to this server, which is a dedictaed RAS server (nothing else run on it).

There are about 10 other RAS users who get decent speeds (40,000 bps plus).

This one user uses this notebook computer to access an ISP and gets decent speeds (40,000 bps plus) for this connection.

i.e. On the same computer, using the samemodem, he gets 14,4000 bps for his NT RAS connection and 40,000 bps plus for for connection to an ISP. (The ISP are running linux servers). The RAS network and ISP both run TCP/IP.

I have checked the DUN settings for the RAS connection. The maximum speed is set to 57,600. TCP/IP is the only protocol selected.

Any suggestions much appreciated.
