ras, pda, activesync 3.8

I am setting up ras with pdas for a client and the syncing works great…every other time. Yup I dialin and sync perfectly but when I do it the next time, my ras connection shows up but activesync doesnt kick off and thus the pda says that the desktop is blocking the connection. The next time, it will sync perfectly again.

what is the deal here? Anybody got any ideas?
