RAS Problems with NT 4.0 Workstation

I’m trying to establish a RAS connection between 2 NT 4.0 workstations. One is my Desktop (To be the HOST) and the other is a Thinkpad that I carry around with me.

The workstations are both Lan connected and I can shared files when physically connected but not when remote. All I really wantis to access to files on my desktop hard drive the laptops only got 2Gig capacity and the deskops got 13Gig.

The modems acknowledge & connect fine. The Laptop get’s an IP address for DHCP the logon’s and permissions are correctly set yet RAS won’t start.

Microsft’s help is not.

Is their a trick to this that I’m missing
