Re-Install 98

I am currently running 98 and have been for a number of years. I have been having problems, lock ups, missing files and assorted other issues. I would like the pros and cons of re-installing 98 on top of my current 98. I have more files and programsthen I like to mention along with updates of the past 3 years and it would be difficult to reformat the drive and start over.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
