!!!!Read Only Files!!!!Please help!!!!

Last night I did a backup of some several shares on a server and restored that backup job to another server to free up space on the old server. I re shared all of the restored folders and remapped the users. All of them are working fine except one of the shared folders for our accounting dept. Whenever they try to update and save those changes to an existing file they get a “can’t save file: file is read only” error but the read only attribute is not checked on any of the subfolders or files. Ihave taken ownership of the share (i’ve tried both local admin and domain admin) and they still get the error. The root folder does not allow inheritable permissions from parent but the subfolders do. Any suggestoins?????
