Recent Upgrade to Win2K Pro from Win98SE

I just recently upgraded to W2K Pro, and for some reason I’m not able to run any setup files, for example, I have to reinstall Adobe Acrobat 4.0, and it won’t load up the setup.exe same result with other programs such as ADP Payroll. I’ve tried to copy the installation files on my local hard drive as well and no luck. Any suggestions to what is causing this?
