Recovery of Documents and Settings

I feel stupid!… I store all my data on my D: partition – I recently re-installed Windows (using the quick format option). I had forgotten that I had some vital accounting files and my picture collection stored within the shared folders – which is of course on the C:

Can I recover? Will the new C:\Docs & Settings\All users\etc. have overwritten everything?
