Recovery of mail folders

How do I recover lost mail folders in Outlook Express ?.
The mail folders are seen as .DBX files in my C:\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express, but I cannot read the content in the folders. Is there a way to recover the mail from these folders ?.
