Registry Error POP up

Hi,
I recently tried to install Media Player 7, but when I rebooted, I started getting a registry error, and I had to reboot and use the back up registry.
Since than, everytime I install a new program, I will get this error when I reboot, and my new program will not work. I have found that I need to use the Registry Checker, and save the present registry information so that I will not get a registry error.
Anyone else having this problem.
