Registy Hack for Win2k Pro

I recently found a registry hack to speed network access between win2k pro computers and win9x clients. It was something to do with caching and validation. However, I had a system crash and had to format/reinstall, and have been unable to locate this hack again. Any assistance or tips would be greatly appreciated.
