Remote application window

I log on to an NT server via dial up. The server responds with a 1/3 screen sized window that is not resizable. There is only a tile bar and it is labeled NT Server. Attempting to maximize the window only causes it to move from center screen to upper left corner. I have been unable to find anything that will allow me to maximize the window or allow it to be resized.
