Remote Desktop between XP and 98

by andy.platt . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

I am evaluating XP for the company I work for, and have found that PCAnywhere 10 causes the Task Manager to become de-activated (may also be a combination of other software), and so want to use ‘Remote Desktop’ instead.

I have setup another XP machine, and can use this between them no problem.

I have also downloaded the Remote Desktop for Win 95/98 and 2000, and installed this on a few machines to enable me to connect from XP to all Windows platforms.

The problem is that I can connect FROM a PC running Win98 TO the XP machine, but NOT from the XP PC to the Win98 machine, just says that the machine cannot be found.

I know in XP you have to enable remote connection – do you have to do this in 98 as well, if so, where is the feature.

Any help would be much appreciated.
