Remotely adding user to Admin group

I need to change several of our remote users (some who have access to our network) to the NT Administrators group. They are currently only in the users group. Short of giving them the administrator’s password and having them change it themselves (because this is a global password that is used for all machines), is there a way I can accomplish this? Registry key? Voodoo? Prayer? Any ideas?
