Removable Storage Service

by acirem77 . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

I am running Windows 2000 and my CDROM drives do not work. Here is a capture of the error from the event viewer: Event Type: Error
Event Source: Removable Storage Service
Event Category: None
Event ID: 17
Date: 8/28/2001
Time: 6:39:15 AM
User: N/A
Computer: CC583825-A
Description:
RSM cannot manage library CdRom0. It encountered an unspecified error. This can be caused by a number of problems including, but not limited to, database corruption, failure communicating with the library, or insufficient system resources.

I also get the same error for CdRom1, and I get them both at the same time. I have tried reinstalling device drivers and I have consulted the Microsoft Knowledge base and have been unsucessful. Please Help.

Thanks.
Brian
