Remove Windows XP folder protection after re-installing Windows

I recently had to format and a partitioned drive C to reinstall Windows XP. I have another partition, H, on the same hard drive. Once I got Windows XP working again, I realised that I could not access my files because I had made certain folders accessible only to me (one of four users). Now that I have set up everything as is, including log on passwords, I can no longer access these files. Solution? Please HELP!
