Removing a program

Ok, every time I boot up McAfee Virusscan starts up. I have a different virus scanner now (the McAfee is WAY out of date), so I don’t need it and would like to uninstall this thing. It’s not under the add/remove programs, so what should I do? I went to delete it, and of course it told me this was a no-no. Please help!
