Removing WAN Miniport

I have a small network of two computers, one with XP and one with Win 2000 pro. They are directly connected thru a 4-port hub and also have DSL. On the computer with Win 2000, I have two WAN miniports(IP) and my network adapter card showing up in myDevice Manager. The network card shows up fine, but the two unwanted WAN’s have red marks on them, saying driver not loaded or working. I dont have any idea where the WAN’s came from, but when I try to delete them, windows says cannot uninstall needed for boot up. Nothing I’ve tryed has worked so any hepl would be great.
