Repartitioning HDD

by elpaton . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

I bought a HP dv 9000 US, that came with one 100 Gb HDD, split into Partition C: with 90 and Recovery D: with 10. It also came with Windows Media Center, but no CD. Later on, I received a Vista upgrade CD.

I want to repartition the HDD to have C: w/ 10 for XP, D: w/10 for Vista, E: w/10 for Recovery, F: w/40 for Applications and the rest for future uses. I already successfully tested another usb connected 160 Gb external drive, for my data and backup.

I have prepared the 3 DVDs HP recommends, with the Recovery data and I have Partition Magic 8.

Any suggestions on how I can repartition without the original Windows Media Center CD?

Thanks.

Alvaro
