Repeated drive mappings

Win NT 4.0 SP 5.0 user logs in and all the proper network drives are mounted properly. As the day goes on each available drive letter will be mapped to his network home directory until all drive letters are mapped. This process usually takes 3-5 hours to complete. I have disconnected all the redundant drives and they return again. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to stop it?
