Replication on two servers

Hi Everybody, my ? is simple, how come when I do a replication between an existing Dc and a child in that domain (which I intend to make the DC) that I don’t see my users or terminal server/mgr/client/ etc in administrative tools.
I can only see all of the info if I connect to that domain, but not when I’m logged into the child locally.
I downloaded white papers from different soucres, but can seem to get a handle on it.
