reset disk help xp

I’m trying to make a password recovery disk but everything I’ve found says go to user accounts and click password prevent and follow the wizard. When I click prevent it says since I do not have an A drive it won’t work… I’m on an XP laptop I believe it’s a home edition. I know when I enter the wrong password it does not give me an option to click reset disk…what do I do?
