Restore Active Directory

I am trying to test restoring active directory to a server on my disaster recovery network. The only problem it is a different machine. I have looked on technet for possible solutions but have yet to find anything. I have the server configured exactly like the live domain controller (name, drive config, etc) but it has different hardware and everytime i reboot after restoring the system state i get Inaccessible boot device. Any suggestions
