restore systray

I often have great trouble with the dreaded wininet.dll, usually thru iexplorer. When the illegal operation occurs, explorer blinks out and in, but the systray usually drops most of its icons. No programs are lost, exccept that systray no longer functions fully. Running systray.exe/bat does not update the display, neither does ending programs and rerunning them to see if they appear in the systray.

Any ideas appreciated.
