Rights issue on IIS

I am using a Win2K Server to host a company website. One of our programmers is developing a database application in MS Visual InterDev to run on the site. Today we ran into an issue where whenever the user would try to add a record to the database it would give a “this page cannot be displayed”. I was able to resolve this by giving the INERNET GUEST USER account all rights to the folder containing the database(except “Take Ownership” & “Delete Subfolders and files”.) My concern is that this is overkill… What rights should the guest account have for such a folder? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
