Roland LAPC & General MIDI

by galahad04 . Updated 21 years, 4 months ago

Does anyone know what is the proper procedure to remap the MT-32 sounds on a Roland LAPC to General MIDI using Roland’s mt2gm.exe utility in Windows ME? The MT32 sounds on the LAPC work fine, but I don’t think the music changes at all when I run the files included in mt2gm.exe.

Also, if I run the mt2gm.exe MIDI files and then reboot my PC, I found that occasionally the PC will crash upon the reboot and require a second reboot. I don’t have any IRQ conflicts though, since the LAPC is the only device on IRQ 9 Address 330 (the default).

Last but not least, does anyone know what is the procedure for running the reset.syx command? In other words, what application am I supposed to run it in to reset the LAPC SysEx without needing to reboot the PC?
