Routing Tables with NT Workstation

Is it correct that every NT4 Workstation in a domain is exchanging routing tables with other workstations?
And if yes 1.) is it necessary that workstations do that
And if yes 2.) >Is it possible to prevent workstations doing that.
For example with a registry key.
