Running a program as Service on Win XP?

I tried to install a program as a service on Windows XP Pro using both SRVANY.EXE (with Instsrvw.ex + srvany.exe) and a program from www.activeplus.com (Service +) – both fail.

Srvany will not start at all (it starts + stops directly) and the other (Service+) exits while Starting my program as a service…

So – who knows how to do this in Windows XP Pro ?

The SRVANY works for me on NT4 + 2000 – but I need it to run on XP. Is there an update (I did not find it) or another freeware program that DOES work?
