runnubg Dcpromo

i installed a win2000 server and its very okay and i try to run dcpromo to install AD but it say network cannot be found, also the nic card has a red X mark on it and the DHCP has an ip of 127.0.0.1, can anyone please advice me of what i am doing wrong,or what steps am i to install AD on a win2000 server.
