Hey all,
I just bought a couple of SeaGate SATA II drives but noticed that the datatrasfer between them doesn’t look like the 3Gb/s all. Took me about a whole hour to transfer 166GB!!
I tested the speed with the diskspeed tool from Roadkil (http://www.roadkil.net/DskSpeed.html) and the speed stays below 80MB/s. That’s only 20MB/s faster than my old Western Digital IDE disk.
I cleared the 1.5Gb/s-limit jumpers on the disks, so should run 3Gb/s now. I’m not using RAID. Here are some other specs.
MoBo: ASUS m2npv-vm
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 (AM2) 4600+
SATA HD: SG 750GB firmware 3.AE, SG 350 3.AA, SG 160 3.AA
IDE HD: WD 320 firmware 08.0
Any ideas what to look for to fix this?
Thanks,
Mark.
