Saving larger file to floppies

I will be changing from Windows Me to WIN2kPro or XP Pro and I want to do a clean install. When I try to backup a 2MG file to 2 floppies my system gives me the message, that the floppy is too small and to save to a bigger disk. I don’t have a cd-rw, so I need to save to 2 floppies(1.44 MG each). When I hit retry in dialog box it runs for a few seconds and then gives me the same message (need to save to a bigger disk) over and over again. Is there any way I can by-pass this and save the file to 2 floppies?
