SBS 2000 Server and IE

I recently set up a SBS 2000 for my company, but opted against installing ISA since I have a hardware firewall.

When I set up the clients, the IE browser was automatically set up to use a proxy server connection, where of course there was none, so Internet access was not possible.

I unchecked the box which fixed the problem, but it comes back each time a new person logs into a particular machine, and then again periodically for some unknown reason.

The setting seems to be part of the user profile, but I can’t find anywhere to specify that I do not want the client browser set up to use a proxy server.

Has anyone had this problem before, and do you know how to fix it? Thanks.
