SBS 2003 not seeing HDD

well i just put 2 new hard drives, both 250GB SATA HDD’s and SBS 2003 for some reason is not seeing them. I thought they were just plug and play? but i guess i’m wrong. So my question is what do i have to do to get SBS to see the hard drives?
Also it came with a 72GB serial SCSI and its only says I have 8GIGS…what have i done wrong? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.
