Scan Disc Lockout

I am running W2000Pro on my HP 6636 When I try to run scan disk I get a message say my operatin system is locking me out. When I run check disk
I get a message saying F perameter not defined.
Does anyone know how to define the F perameter?
Any help would be appreciated.
