Scanner drivers (1200 CP Mustek) in XP

I cannot load the XP driver for my 1200 cp scanner. I have tried numerous times to contact mustek but to no avail. i’ve tried changing the registry to allow for the win2000 driver but i still recieve Error 28 driver not installed.
any assitance would be appreciated
