Screwed up my Dial-Up adapter

by chan1637 . Updated 24 years, 9 months ago

I recently bought a Ethernet PC card so that i could network my laptop and Desktop together. However, when i installed it, i accidently removed my dial-up adapter. So after physically installing the network card,i reinstalled the adapter using the Win98 CD.However, although i could still dial up to my internet service provider, now i cannot access any websites or use other Internet programs such as MIRC or a mud client.
Also, i still can’t get my Network set up properly.
Anyway, what i read during the error messages is that some socket couldn’t be created.
After some emails with the respective vendors and service providers, i tried some methids, including removing the network card and adapters to see if there were any conflicts, reinstalling windows 98, and re-installing dial up network and the respective adapters including the tcp/ip bindings.
