SCSI utilities ???

Are there any SCSI utilities that I could use to check a scsi hdd.
I have installed a tekram dc-315 scsi card and this is detected by XP ok.
I cant see the HDDs on the line.
I have checked the jumpers, reset them from 1-6, tried one hdd only, set the term active on the drives used the end connection on the cable, pulled all my hair and swore a lot, nothing seems to work.
Tried an old adaptec card and the hdds where detected on boot but not by XP as that card is unsupported and I couldn’t find a driver.
Any Ideas ?
