SDLT tape cartridges backwards

I’m using an old DLT VS80 and planning to buy a new SDLT 320.My concerns is can my new SDLT320 READ & WRITE on the old DLT VS80 cartridge.I need to restore from the old cartridges.Same case to DD4 tape drive can it READ & WRITE from my old DDS3 cartridges
