Secondary Hard Drive Start Up

Hello

I recently installed a secondary hard drive in my computer, with both set to “cable select” the grey IDE connection (the slave) works the first time I boot the computer, then it doesn’t see the drive on the second boot. The HDD light remains light all the after the second boot.

I have complete scans of the new drive, but nothing was found, I have switched power connections, but still run into the same issues. Any ideas??
