Secondary IDE connector fails

ASRock P4V88, Win XP Pro SP2
IDE secondary connector does not recognize my DVD drive anymore…. or any other drive.
Already done:
-Changed IDE cable
-Checked the BIOS
-DVD drive jumper ok on Master (only drive connected.
-Uninstalled/reinstalled IDE driver in XP Hardware manager
-Tried IDE 2 with other drives, DVD and Hard drives.
Fyi IDE 1 still ok. Connected one hard drive and DVD drive to it as an emergency solution.
