SecurityProblems – convert fat16 to NTFS

by aguinaldo.lenoir . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

Ok Here’s the questions if any body can help it will be really appreciated. I have a few NT 4.0 workstations that were at Service Pack 3 when I did a Convert from fat16 to NTFS. After this conversion I ran the current version of FIXACLS on the system. But due to some other upgrades to the systems I then upgraded the service pack to 6
after this was done. My users logged back on to their workstations and had the following problems. when they use any desktop shortcut or start bar shortcut they get a logon window stating the following:
Incorrect password or unknow username for:
\\machineID\C$
connect as: ???????
password : ???????

Now this problem is on the users owen workstation. it is acting like they are trying to use the admin share but the short cuts are not pointing to this. Now if they go to explore and run the program directly it works! Please help!

Ag.
Thanks in advance
