Server 2003 Superscope help

I’m trying to add a new DHCP scope to a superscope I have running on a windows 2003 server. The current pool of address is:
172.16.0.26~199/16
I’m trying to add:
172.16.1.2~254/16
Which according to MS I should be able to do, but every time I try to add the new scope it tells me it’s conflicting with an existing scope. Any help would be appreciated.
